Sustainable Management and Agriculture for Resilient Tomorrow

The W.H.Y. Initiative, Inc. offers a yearly free 10-month program for middle-school through college students (boys and girls)as well as beginner farmers in Madison, Rankin and Hinds county.  The project’s goal is for the youth to gain a thorough understanding of how to start a farming/ranching business, develop comprehensive business, farm, and marketing plans, efficiently manage a farm, and develop relationships and receive assistance from the network of agencies that offer small farm programs and services in Mississippi..
